ive tried so many and none of them seemed to work...iv had eczema since i was lyk 6..im 18 now|||I can totally relate!! Been to the Doctor, gotten potions and lotions.... I have tried all of the above listed- don%26#039;t work.. right now at this time of year it gets worse- with the weather changing... In the past I have had it on my wrists, inside elbows, behind knees and occasionally near my eyes.. I finally found 2 different things that have worked for me... the first I found at Whole Foods, it%26#039;s called Eczema Rescue- comes in a tube, it is herbal- but VERY good, if you have no Whole Foods store near you look up www.peacefulmountain.com for the product... the other is Bacitracin mixed with the hydrocortisone-equal amounts of both, not too close to the eyes tho... that cleared it right up for me also but you may want to the natural route first- Im not a major tree hugger :-) but found this really worked to clear it up as well... and try your best not to itch at night, it makes it sooooo much worse, when you open up the pores that are affected. Good luck and please try I think you will be relieved!!
****too many lotions and creams will just make it burn and itch- which makes it worse- it doesn%26#039;t help- the area needs to have a process of drying out and clearing up- keeping the open areas %26quot;wet%26quot; does not promote healing- avoid the heavy creams***|||1% hydrocortisone.
You can usually get this over the counter in Cortaid. Try it for a few days. A dermo can get you a few lotions in order to keep your body from adapting. Lubriderm has a lotion free of perfumes and dyes that seems to be helpful for most people.|||What worked for me personally was the herbal cream and spray combo from http://www.champori.com My itch stopped after the very 1st application and the patches cleared in 2 weeks.
Best,
Bernadette|||The best thing you can do for eczema is preventative care. Take brief warm showers. Avoid extreme temeratures ie super hot showers or super cold pools.
Use lotion everyday, Eucerine is the best. Wash your sheets regularly in an allergen free detergent and always use sunscreen.
When a break out happens try not to scratch. Instead apply Chydrocortozone cream until you can go to your doctor for a prescription. I was using Elidel for a while, but it doesnt work fast enough for me. Elecon works great. The itchy bumps usually disappear overnight.|||MY sister and I use Hydrocortizone (sounds something like that lol)|||The best creams are prescribed by your doctor. I%26#039;ve tried several over the counter creams and found that they did not work.|||Same situation for my.. hydrocortisone is the right answer but most doctors give a cream with just that ingredient it works but doesn%26#039;t take away the itching.. try getting a hydrocortisone cream with aloe vera as it cols the area down, reducing itch.. or at least use a freezer pack!.. Lipobase works really well too!|||You ought to be careful about applying an eczema cream without proper knowledge about this skin disorder.
Firstly, it is important to see a doctor if an OTC medication has not worked for you. Your doctor will prescribe you the correct strength so that you can eliminate the itchiness as fast as you can.
You also need to make diet and lifestyle changes so that you can control your eczema. Determining what causes your flareups can also enable you to take preventative measures.
