Anyone used steroid cream to treat their baby's eczema?

Is it safe? Did it work?|||We%26#039;re using it now, to try and clear up a really bad outbreak on my daughter. As long as it%26#039;s used properly and not ingested, then it%26#039;s safe. I know that my daughter%26#039;s doctor gave her two different strengths. One for her face which is 1%. And one for her body that is 2.5%. We have to be extra sure not to put the 2.5% on her face, because it will thin her skin out. Other than that, there are no really bad dangers. It%26#039;s working well so far. She has no new rashes and her old rashes are pretty much completely healed.

Also, the doctor said to put on Lubiderm or Eucerin creme as much as possible. And to use fragrance %26amp; dye free soap and lotion. Including laundry soap. Hope that helps!|||My Daughter had eczema and that doc gave us some steroid cream but it dried her skin out..so i went back and the doc gave me a lotion with a eczema cream for adults mixed in it was a 10% -1% solution|||yes i have, it is safe if you dont use it for prolongged periods of time, because it can thin skin, it did work on my little lad for a while but it doesnt anymore, the best option is called %26#039;wet bandages%26#039; its when they or you put plenty of a waterbased petrolium jelly on the affected areas and wrap with bandages over night. that worked for my son and he has severe eczema, hope ive helped a bit xxxx|||my daughter, who%26#039;s 3 years old uses a steriod cream that is 2.5% hydrocortisone. it was prescribed by her doctor, and hers isnt an allergy, its a genetic thing. her father has it and so does she.|||The doctor wouldn%26#039;t give it to me! I asked for it too, so I%26#039;m guessing that its not safe. I just used a mixture of hydrocortizone cream and baby eczema cream. It worked very well.|||yes i do and my two children aged 3 and 5 still need use it i need to use it on the body and face.it is safe to use but only use it how your GP says.|||yes i have used this and it does work but only use it if adviced by a doctor and use very sparingly as it really strong|||I would recommend Eurax or aqueous cream|||It is safe if used sparingly and prescribed by a doctor in the right strength.|||it%26#039;s safe, but use no more than twice a day. We tried hydrocotizone 1%. I don%26#039;t think it really worked, but it may relieve some itch. We tried Elidel which seems to work for a little while, but that drug is prescription and now they associate it with skin cancer.

You have to find the source of his eczema, mine was due to sensitive skin in conjunction with food allergy. Lots of moisturization with Eucerin creme (not lotion), Aquaphore. No soaps. Try eliminate common allergens, such as milk products, nuts, seafood, etc.|||The steroid cream is safe enough but my 3month old niece has it and someone told us to use olive oil and it works wonders, we were told not to use baby bubble bath.|||I did with my baby whos now 10 yrs old and yes it helped him a lot, he had bad ezcema on his face, we tried lots of things to get rid of it but nothing helped until we got the steroid cream, used as sparingly as possible and it really did help, he now suffers with psoriasis and they have been reluctant to prescribe a steroid again for him but it has got so bad at the moment they have had too so hoping this helps.|||Both my girls had eczema and where prescribed a mild steroid cream by my GP, also some lotion that went in there bath, worked a treat.|||i have a friend who use it on their baby because of the skin condition. its effective. just ask the pharmacy if you have doubt in using it to clear any of your doubt.|||Yes I did use it, It worked and it was safe for my case.|||Yes, I used it. My doctor said not to use it for a long period However, for flare ups it was fine. It did work. His eczema was not really severe. If it is I would recommend going to see a specialist. My cousin had it really severe and they did all kinds of tests and he had to avoid alot of foods and it helped tremendously.
